Governor Lamont has declared April 16-22, 2026 to be Connecticut Climate Action Week! The Connecticut Coalition for Climate Action invites you to join in the celebrations. This week highlights the positive difference that comes from working together to make Connecticut a healthier, safer place for all.

Celebrating Sustainability on the Sound

What: Join COASTS and Save the Sound for an Earth Week Coastal Clean-up and Sustainability Fair for an engaging and interactive showcase of local efforts to protect the Long Island Sound and promote sustainable living!

When: Saturday, April 18, 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. & 12:00-3:00 p.m.  

Where: Canal Dock Boathouse, Long Wharf Park

Climate & Clean Transportation Advocacy Day

What: Advocates will join together to speak with legislators about bills that would support continued electrification of school bus fleets and establish programs for the purchase of bus passes for distribution to high school students and veterans, in addition to opposing rollbacks in clean transportation standards.  

When: Tuesday, April 21, 10:00 a.m.-12: p.m.  

Where: Legislative Office Building, 300 Capitol Ave. Hartford, CT

What: Join Third Act for CT's Climate Action Week event and learn how to proactively stand up for solar.  We'll train you to advocate for solar projects in our Connecticut communities.

Student Climate Poster Contest

​What: In recognition of prioritizing climate education, the CT Coalition for Climate Action is hosting the 2026 Climate Poster Competition for students from participating schools. Join us to vote for your favorite and get a treat.

When: Wednesday, April 22, Voting from 12-2pm, Winners announced at 2:30pm.
